APPLETON EDUCATION FOUNDATION

The Appleton Education Foundation holds an annual golf outing as its major fundraiser. The event helps to defray operating expenses and preserve endowment funds for direct educational enhancements.

Each year more than 100 people participate. Players include a wide range of Foundation supporters, including donors, board members, school district staff members, representatives of local businesses and school district vendors.

To make the outing interesting, unique and also educational, the Foundation initiated the Master’s Knowledge Challenge in 2006. Community sponsors submit multiple-choice questions that are placed on tee boxes on the golf course. Each event foursome, as a team, answers the questions during its round of play.

The 12th Annual outing will be held Friday, July 16, 2010, at Winagamie Golf Course.

Like last year, each team that participates in the outing will represent a school within the Appleton Area School District. The teams will compete for cash prizes that benefit students at the winning schools.

This method supports AEF’s mission of creatively enhancing education helps get additional funds to the schools for student benefit.
